The history of ballet begins around 1500 in Italy. Terms like “ballet” and “ball” stem from the Italian word "ballare," which means "to dance." When Catherine de Medici of Italy married the French King Henry II, she introduced early dance styles into court life in France.
Irish Dancing provides physical benefits such as increased stamina, core strength, and general overall fitness. It will also improve balance, posture and coordination, as well as promote flexibility and increased muscle strength. Mental benefits include learning to listen, following directions and memory building.

The roots of Irish dancing come from the Celts and the druids who roamed the island before the onset of Christianity and outside influences came along. Many of the druids' religious rituals involved dancing, usually in a circular fashion around sacred trees. The Celts had their own folk dances with similar formations.
Hula has other health benefits as well, such as weight loss and boosting energy. With its slow and relaxing nature, hula is a low to medium impact exercise, easing the strain on the joints. Dancing is also good for your abs, back and hips and helps tone and strengthen your legs.

Traditional dance of the Polynesian Islands such as Hula and Tahitian share a trove of cultural stories through singing, chanting and dance. Hula primarily uses arm movements while Tahitian utilizes hip movements to share the stories of Polynesian history, genealogy, prophecy, and the tales of those who came before as well as fostering stewardship of the environment.
